Super Naturals

Super Naturals

I love the simplicity that comes with summer. No layering, no frills.

Just slipping into a swinging sun dress, a romper, a pair of bouncy shorts (or whatever you've got stashed away in that mammoth sized walk-in closet) will suffice. This season is all about embracing nature's natural flow, and as fashion is often a mirror reflection of the times, we're going back to basics.

The look I'm styling speaks to this trend, which I like to call, the super naturals. And I've chosen a designer - one of my favorite new designers to LILA, to spotlight it. Headquartered in Athens, Greece, Madame Shou Shou's entire collection of ultra feminine frocks, blouses and bathing suits capture the romance of the season. This particular dress was a draw because it plays into the fairytale - a simple pleated waist and hem, a dipping back line, a fanciful eyelet lace tail and floral accents that are a true differentiator from the traditional floral print.

I've mixed in other super naturals I adore, including: a wide-brimmed straw hat, which will always make my bucket list of summer essentials; a classic leather saddle bag in camel (this actually comes with a leather strap to style as a cross body as well!); sunglasses made with another very natural material - wood - specifically, purple heart and oak! - by Greek island-based designer Zylo Eyewear; and a complementary gold hematite and pearl necklace from the LILA Luxe Jewelry Collection

Always on a mission to be matchy matchy (it cannot be helped!) I perfectly paired the Smew dress with a pair of strappy floral heels I snagged from Anthropologie many moons ago, which still remains one of my all-time favorite finds.

How are you embracing simplified summer style? All for now. xo.
