Music Festival Love

Music Festival Love

Music festival season is back in action! The party kicked off with the wildly popular Coachella this past April, as bloggers, wanderlusters and social darlings alike flocked to California for two sublime weeks of sun, sound and partying like it was Woodstock, 1969. For most of us who weren't able to jet over and join the celebrations, no worries! With some of the most talked-about music festivals on the horizon, it's time to jump on the love bus and rock out to your favorite bands in true 'hippie chic' style.

If you're planning on attending a festival, but not sure what you should be styling - my advice is to keep it light. Gravitate towards pieces that are loose and breathable. Think breezy linens and comfy cottons in soft colors that won't weigh you down in the heat. I adore the romantic, free spirited feel of the floral two piece I chose to style by Athens-based designer Madame Shou Shou. The flirty open back of the Figbird Crop Top, and flattering a-line cut of the Dunlin Shorts made for a natural choice for beating the heat... and showing off that sun-kissed glow... if you've got one!

I am also obsessed with wedges, which I wear practically on the daily, and have styled to complement this look. I'm always amazed at how those few extra inches can be such a confidence booster.  Ever experience that with your closet? Sure, for you it might be all about having fabulous hair, flawless makeup, or styling your outfit to the T, but wedges are always what do it for me. They are my armor to face the day. The Sasha Fierce to my Beyonce, if you will. A great alternative to the traditional wedge would be the trending platform sandal - which, as mentioned in last month's post, Rompin Around: One Look Two Ways, is having a major moment on the fashion 'hot' list this summer, or flat sandals if you're going for casual vibes.

Other classic music festival pieces to pack if you're camping or glamping (AKA glamorous camping, which no joke IS a thing) out for the entire weekend or longer, include: denim cutoffs, off-the-shoulder tops, fringed pieces, patchwork crochet and boho accessories like head scarves and body jewelry. Plus, add a pair of retro shades and a straw sun hat to you're suitcase as they'll keep you looking boho chic and well-protected from the sun all season long.

All for now. xo.
