Inspired Italian Getaway
There's something about this time of year, when cold days are sprinkled with warmer weather and spring feels just within our grasp, that we also look to refresh our wardrobes with bright, bold patterns, pastels and florals that are so very necessary for making the transition.
Spring at the storefront comes in late February and the early days of March, where floral collections abound in playful shades of dusty pink, bordeaux and navy blue floral; breezy white pinstripe dresses with beautiful bell sleeves and crochet dresses inspire island living; and boldly patterned capris make off duty style all the more enjoyable for weekend's spent in the city.
The recent planning for an Italian getaway added one more element into the mix... what to pack for an oversees European adventure - destination Rome and Florence! Besides chatting about this trip for weeks on end, Italy has also become a major source of inspiration, filling our days with researching (and Pinteresting!) the best gelato shops and tastiest pizza places, to the most Instagrammable destinations (Trevi Fountain, anyone?...) and off-the-beaten path experiences. There's also the expectation, or more so, the fantasy, that we'll be zipping around Rome on the back of a Vespa - Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck style! - in our very own (and very romantic!) rendition of Roman Holiday. Sigh.
In much anticipation of this trip (coming up in May!), we've created a few mood boards with what we consider 'must pack' accessories before take-off. Think easy-to-wear pieces for all-day exploring; a stylish boater hat to protect from the sun; a roomy carryall for airport travel; as well as a couple of our top 'made in Italy' shoe picks to get us stylishly around town.
