What to wear to a wedding? Our guess... you've got more than one coming up this year. Trying to find the right outfit can cause some serious angst. On the one hand, you want to find something fabulous and new, on the other, you're just not ready to invest in a piece that you know you'll never wear again. And while that may have seemed like a good idea in the past (or maybe it still took some convincing), this year, you reason with yourself, that's just not going to cut it. We get it. Unless your Jeff Bezos ex-wife, who's walking away with a $35 billion divorce settlement thanks to Amazon and some really good divorce attorney's, most of us don't have that kind of a disposable income.

Truth: Weddings and all those other super fanciful occasions (graduations, bridal showers, work events etc.) that put on the pressure to find something that will make you look and feel like $$$, make it nearly impossible for our closets and our budgets to keep pace. It's OKAY to buy a piece you love... but before you do, make sure that you're also thinking about cost-per-wear. If this is a piece you know you'll wear again and again, then it's well worth the pricetag and it becomes an investment piece. A $300 dress you buy once and never wear again comes at a high cost and has no value.

Next time you go shopping look for a piece that is versatile enough to style on many occasions, in different ways. Here's where you can really get creative. And remember, accessories can play a big role in dressing a look up or down. A trend-right floral dress can be perfect for that wedding on the calendar when paired with a killer heel, the right hairstyle and statement jewels. By toning down the accessories (think, sun hat and sandals?) or pairing the piece with a fun sneaker,  you can take that same garment from special occasion to everyday.
